INCI: Hyaluronic acid

Belonging to the glycosaminoglycan family, hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in our bodies and plays a fundamental role in tissue organization and the transmission of biological signals between cells and different layers of the skin. It is produced in the cell membranes of the epidermis and dermis and is a component of numerous tissues and organs in our body, such as cartilage and the skin itself.

The main characteristic of hyaluronic acid is its ability to combine chemically in a stable way with around 17,050,000 water molecules, which makes it one of the most sought-after active ingredients for cosmetics and anti-aging treatments due to its power to hydrate and regenerate the skin.

Hyaluronic acid is a highly hydrating substance. Proper skin hydration ensures firmness, elasticity, and a good texture, and above all, helps prevent the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The hyaluronic acid used at Gley is of low, medium, and high molecular weight.

The low molecular weight one has a greater penetration capacity and works as a filler, and the cross-linked one works as a delivery system and allows the gradual release of active ingredients into the skin.

The medium molecular weight one penetrates several layers of the skin, so it fills from the middle layers.

The high molecular weight one remains on the surface and does not penetrate.

Ideally, mix in equal parts, so we fill from the inside and fill from the outside, covering both fronts, internal and external.
